NEW DELHI, FEB 6 (AP/UNB) - India allrounder Yuvraj Singh is undergoing chemotherapy to treat a cancerous growth near his lungs.
Singh's physiotherapist, Jatin Chaudhary, said Monday that Singh is suffering from a "rare tumor" that is cancerous but treatable since it has been detected early.
The growth was earlier thought to be benign, but has now been diagnosed as malignant.
Singh, 30, man-of-the-series during last year's home World Cup-victory, last played for India during a home test series against the West Indies in November.
Singh has played 37 tests, 274 one-dayers and 23 Twenty20 internationals.
He is most famous for striking six sixes in an over off England paceman Stuart Broad during the Twenty20 World Cup in 2007.
