Faridpur, Feb 7 (UNB) - Unidentified assailants shot dead Moloy Bose, chairman of Atghar Union Parisahd in Saltha upazila, on Tuesday.

Locals said a gang of assailants intercepted Moloy at Ronokail in Sadar upazila while he along with one Sohag was returning home from the district town in a motorcycle at about 11:45am.

The hoodlums started chopping them indiscriminately and at one stage, opened fire on Moloy, leaving him dead on the spot.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Faridpur General Hospital morgue autopsy.

Police said the UP chairman might have been killed following previous enmity as he had been at loggerheads with some rajakers of his village Gurdia.
