
Dhaka, Feb 20 (UNB) - A total of 54,918 students will get scholarships this year for the Primary Terminal Examinations, 2011, according to a list released on Monday.
The scholarships have been given in two categories -- talent pool and general -- on the basis of the highest numbers in the examinations held in November last year.
Among the students, 21,998 were awarded in talent pool while 32,920 in general category.
Primary and Mass Education Minister Afsarul Ameen announced the scholarship list at a press conference today.
The talent pool recipients will get Tk 200 monthly while the general ones Tk 150 for the next three years. The recipients of both the categories will get a one-off payment of Tk 150 yearly.
A total of 21,25,869 class V students out of 21,85,747 passed the terminal examinations 2011.
