Dhaka, Feb 27 (UNB) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday expressed profound shock at the death of country’s noted filmmaker Alamgir Kumkum.
In a message of condolence, the Prime Minister recalled his contributions to the War of Liberation, democratic movements and the country's cultural movement.
“Nation will always remember his contributions to the development of culture,” Sheikh Hasina said.
She prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Alamgir Kumkum, former cultural affairs secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and founding president of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote, died at a city hospital on Monday.
