Insane lynched as he kills 1 in Bandarban
Bandarban, Mar 11 (UNB) - A mentally deranged youth was killed in a lynch-mob attack after he hacked an octogenarian man to death and injured two others at Baghmara village in Sadar upazila on Sunday.
Rajbila Union Parishad Chairman Katching Shoi Marma said Nunumoni Tanchanga, son of Kali Kumar Tanchanga of the area, had long been confined to his house for treatment for mental disability.
He somehow managed to come out of the house in the morning and hacked Mohendra Chakma, 81, indiscriminately with a sharp weapon, killing him on the spot.
When locals came forward to save Mohendra, Nunumoni also attacked them, leaving Choitadi Tanchanga and Kajal Rekha Tanchanga injured.
As the news spread around, angry locals rushed in and gave him a tremendous thrashing leaving him dead on the spot.
The injured were taken to Sadar hospital.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy.
