Dhaka, Mar 11 (UNB) - Finance Minister AMA Muhith has said that opposition leader Khaleda Zia’s ‘Dhaka Cholo’ programme and grand rally in the capital tomorrow (Monday) is nothing but to create anarchy and conflict in the country.
“’The anarchy is designed to protect the war criminals and hinder the rule of law,’’ he said while presenting the macro economic trend and analysis of the first half of the current fiscal in Parliament on Sunday.
The Finance Minister said Khaleda Zia had been in power for two terms as the Prime Minister, “but her administration was marked by terrible misrule and unbridled corruption.”
Referring to the Monday’s programe of the BNP chairperson, he said: “People believe that it is aimed at protecting the war criminals of 1971.”
“Khaleda Zia does not believe in democracy,” Muhith said, adding that if she has anything to say about neutral elections, she should come to parliament and place her proposal.
The Finance Minister said although he was supposed to speak about the economy, but he could not check himself from saying something “about Begum Zia’s efforts to create unrest in the country.”
