Chandpur, Mar 13 (UNB) - The newly-elected members of the executive committee of Chandpur Press Club (CPC) formally took office in a ceremony attended by Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, MP, on Sunday.

The CPC executive committee was elected for a one year term for 2012 recently.

Chaired by new CPC president Kazi Shahadat, the installation ceremony was held at the club premises in the evening.

CPC general secretary Iqbal Patwari, Chandpur`s Deputy Commissioner Priotosh Saha, Chandpur Mayor Nasiruddin Ahmed, Superintendent of Police Shahidullah Chowdhury, district unit Awami League president Dr Shamsul Hoque Bhuiyan, general secretary Abu Nayeem Dulal Patwary, senior journalist Shafiqur Rahman, BASIC Bank Director and president of Chandpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries Jahangir Akhand Selim, Mizanur Rahman (owner and publisher of a local vernacular daily newspaper), Prof Mohammad Hossain Khan of BSS, Prof Ahsanuzzaman Mantu of Bangladesh Betar, the district unit Jatiya Party (JP) president Nurul Hoque Bachchu, renowned journalists Adv Iqbal Bin Bashar and Iqram Chowdhury, the immediate past president and secretary respectively of CPC, B.M. Hannan and all the members of the new EC, were among others, present.
