Businessman, vendor murdered in B`baria

Brahmanbaria, Mar 20 (UNB) - A businessman and a hawker were murdered in Banchharampur and Nasirnagar upazilas respectively sometimes between Sunday night and Monday.

The deceased were identified as Afzal Mia, 25, a hawker and son of Renu Mia of Purbabagh village of Nasirnagar and Kamal Mia, 45, a businessman and son of late Chan Mia of Chhoyfullakandi village of Banchharampur.

Witnesses said Afzal`s brother-in-law Shanu Mia, his brother Hasim Mia and their 7/8 associates chopped Afzal indiscriminately over previous enmity, leaving him dead at his village home at 9-30 pm on Sunday.

Being informed police recovered the body and sent it to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital for autopsy on Monday.

Victim’s father Renu Mia filed a murder case.

In separate incident, unknown miscreants called Kamal Mia out of his residence on Saturday night.

They killed him and dumped the body in Bhelanagar Beel near Hazrat Saharat Ali Shah College in Chhoyfullakandi union sometime between Saturday night and early morning Sunday.

Locals found the body on Sunday morning and informed police who recovered and sent the body, bearing multiple injury marks, to Sadar Hospital.
