Woman burnt to death in Naogaon

Naogaon, Mar 27 (UNB) - An elderly woman who sustained burn injuries while lighting up a hurricane-lamp at Khas Naogaon in the district town on Saturday died at hospital early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Rabeya Khatun, 50, wife of Khalilur Rahman of the area.

Family sources said Rabeya sustained serious burn injuries as she suddenly caught fire while lighting up the lamp after electricity went out on Saturday evening.

She was rushed to Naogaon Sadar Hospital from where she was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on the night following deterioration of her condition.

She succumbed to her injuries at the RMCH in the early hours of Sunday.
