12th session of parliament prorogued

Dhaka, Mar 29 (UNB) - Speaker Abdul Hamid Thursday announced the prorogation of the 12th session of the ninth parliament.

He read out President Zillur Rahman’s order to prorogue the House at about 6:35 pm.

The 12th session of Parliament began on January 25. There was a total of 34 working days in the session. Some 211 lawmakers spoke for 50 hours and 26 minutes taking part in the discussion on the thanksgiving motion for the President address in parliament.

Fifteen bills were passed out of the 28 bills introduced in the session.

Of the total 217 questions received for the Prime Minister’s question hour, she answered to 77 questions.
