Suspected robber lynched in Comilla

Comilla, Apr 17 (UNB) - An alleged robber was lynched at Itakhola village in Daudkandi upazila on Tuesday.

The identity of the deceased, aged about 38, could not be known yet.

Daudkandi thana OC said a gang of robbers entered the house of Habibur Rahman, a farmer, to commit robbery at about 3 am.

As the inmates raised a hue and cry neighbours rushed to the spot, encircled the house and managed to capture one of the gangsters. The rest of the robbers managed to escape.

The angry villagers beat the captive black and blue leaving him dead on the spot.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital for autopsy.
