News - U.S- Bangladesh security dialogue held
Dhaka, Apr 19 (UNB) – A day-long dialogue on security issues between Bangladesh and U.S. was held at Bangladesh Institute of International & Strategic Studies (BIISS) in the capital today (Thursday).

Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Andrew J. Shapiro and additional secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mustafa Kemal chaired the inaugural meeting of the U.S.-Bangladesh Dialogue on Security Issues, said a press release of U.S. embassy in Dhaka.

The positive and substantial exchanges of the dialogue reflected the breadth, depth, and strength of the bilateral defense relationship, as well as shared commitment of the two countries to peace and prosperity in the region.

This inaugural Dialogue on Security Issues highlighted the robust engagement between the United States and Bangladesh as well as growing defense relationship between the two countries.

Moving forward, the U.S.-Bangladesh Security Dialogue will broaden and strengthen bilateral cooperation on a wide range of political-military issues, and enhance partnerships in peacekeeping, joint military exercises and exchanges, counterterrorism, and security cooperation.
