Dhaka, Apr 20 (UNB) - Law Minister Shafique Ahmed on Friday called upon the land registration officials to shun corruption by saying ‘no’ to the social vice.

“We have to make a corruption-free society as the present government wants such a society”, he said addressing the installation ceremony of the newly elected committee of Bangladesh Registration Service Association.

State Minister for Law Quamrul Islam also addressed the function held at Public Works bhaban auditorium in the city.

Role of registration department is essential in collecting revenue. Slight mistake by land registration officials cause loss to the government as well as inflict sufferings to the people, said Shafique.

Many cases are originated from land related dispute, said the Law Minister, calling on the land registration officials to discharge their duties carefully.

He suggested the land registration officials
to look into the matter so that people do not face cases unnecessarily and are not deprived of getting their due services.
