Dhaka, Apr 21 (UNB) - Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman left here for the United States on Friday night at the invitation of United States government and Department of Defence.
During his visit, the Air Chief will attend a seminar on “Management of Natural Disasters in South Asia” to be arranged jointly by John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Near East South Asia Strategic Studies and Asia Pacific Centre for Security Studies, said an ISPR release on Saturday.
The release said the seminar will focus on cooperation in the management of natural disaster in South Asia, including planning, crisis action, decision making and building multi agency and regional capacity.
It is expected that participation of the Air Chief in the seminar will play an important role in formulating a procedure in disaster management and ensuring cooperative problems solving in South Asian Region, it said.
The SM Ziaur Rahman is expected to return home on April 30.
