Kurigram, Apr 21 (UNB) – Police recovered the body of an Indian girl from the Gangadhar River in the frontier Bhurungamari upazila on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Mohida Khatun, 7, daughter of Mahibul Hoque of Motichar village in Dhubri district of Indian Assam State.
Police said the girl was washed away by strong current when she was taking bath along with her mother in the Indian part of the river on Friday afternoon.
The girl’s body was found floating in the river at Matherganj near sub-pillar No. 7 of the border in the morning.
Receiving information, Kachakata thana police recovered the body.
The body is likely to be handed over to Indian Border Security Force (BSF) after a flag meeting between BGB and BSF later, said police.
