
Dhaka, Apr 24 (UNB) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home early Tuesday wrapping up a four-day official visit to Qatar.
A Qatar Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:25 am.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhit, Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan and other high government officials were present at the airport to receive the Prime Minister.
Sheikh Hasina attended the thirteenth United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad XIII) in Doha during her visit to the Gulf country.
She led a high-profile Bangladesh delegation to the conference of Unctad, a permanent intergovernmental body of the UN General Assembly dealing with trade, investment and development issues.
The Bangladesh delegation included Industries Minister Dilip Barua, Commerce Minister GM Quader, Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni and State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Dr Shirin Sharmin Choudhury.
Besides, some parliament members, government secretaries and other senior officials were among the delegation members.
During her stay in Qatar, the Prime Minister attended different events of the conference and held bilateral meetings with her Qatar’s counterpart and other senior officials.
She also attended the World Leaders Investment Summit on 'How Can Investment Foster Sustainable Development?, a high-level interactive discussion on the issues of women development, and delivered a statement at the Opening Ceremony of Unctad XIII on April 21.
