Dhaka, Apr 24 (UNB) - Cox City Football Club, which earlier confirmed the league title, split points with Beani Bazar SC as the last league match of the Premier Bank Bangladesh Championship League between the two sides ended in a 2-2 draw at the Cox’s Bazar Stadium today (Tuesday).
Mohammad Absar put Cox City FC ahead in the very 2nd minute of the match while Mohammad Milan leveled the margin for Beani Bazar SC in the 25th minute.
Cox City FC again took lead in the 28th minute through a nice goal from Mohammad Saad while Liton Barman restored the parity for Beani Bazar in the 45th minute.
Despite the day’s draw, newcomers Cox City FC comfortably clinched the title of the 2nd tier of the professional league to earn promotion to the GP Bangladesh Premier League with 20 points from all the 12 league encounters.
Both Uttar Baridhara Club and Wari Club secured 17 points, but Uttar Baridhara finished league runners-up because of better goal difference, while Beani Bazar SC was placed 4th with 16 points.
