Benapole, Apr 25 (UNB) - A Bangladeshi cattle trader was beaten and injured allegedly by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at its Angrail camp at Putkhali Border here on Tuesday night.

The victim is Shafiqul Islam, son of Shamsur Rahman of Barpota village of Sharsha upazila.

Injured Shafiqul said he entered India to bring his cattle on Tuesday night. BSF jawans of Angrail camp caught him after a hot chase, took him to their camp and beat him mercilessly. Later, they left him in the border area.

On Wednesday morning, villagers rescued him and got him admitted into Jessore Medical College Hospital.
