
Dhaka, Apr 26 (UNB) - BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam
Alamgir on Thursday said the general secretary of ruling Awami League should put pressure on the Prime Minister and other government agencies to return missing Ilias Ali and his driver alive to their families.
He stated this when reporters sought his comment over AL general
secretary Syed Ashraful Islam’s remarks at a press conference this (Thursday) morning that BNP had kept hostage the people of the whole country by hartal over Ilias issue.
Fakhrul said AL general secretary Ashraf should create pressure on the
men of government agencies who have “picked up Ilias Ali and his driver” to return them alive.
He said onlookers have reported that the government men had picked up Ilias.
Earlier, Fakhrul visited the Pangu (orthopaedics) Hospital in the capital to see a woman activist of BNP of Thakurgaon district, who was injured during
the April 23 hartal.
