4 Jamaat activists held in Pirojpur

Pirojpur, Apr 26 (UNB) – Police on Thursday arrested four activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at Sreeramkathi bazar in Nazirpur police station for their suspected involvement in anti-state activities.

The arrestees are Islami Bank officials Kazi Mosleh Uddin and Kabir Shikder, Mozibar Rahman, a cloth trader and Maulana Saifullah, acting superintendent of Dighirjan Sabdullah Madrasha under the same police station.

Police said a group of Jamaat activists were holding a secret meeting to launch anti-state activities at Tamanna Garment shop of Mazibar Rahman  at the Sreeramkathi bazar at noon.

Being informed by locals, police launched a drive and arrested the four people from the spot while others managed to flee.
