M K Alamgir, 4 others acquitted of graft case

News - M K Alamgir, 4 others acquitted of graft case
Dhaka, Apr 26 (UNB)-A Dhaka court on Thursday acquitted former state minister for civil aviation and tourism Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir and four others of a corruption case.

Judge Mohammad Abdul Majid of the Special Court for Dhaka Division pronounced the judgement.

The four other acquittals are-former AL lawmaker MA Sattar,  civil aviation authority of Bangladesh (Caab) former chairman Air commodore (retd) M Manzur Alam,  Caab member Sakiruddin Ahmad and group captain M Iqbal Hussain.

Now defunct Bureau of Anti-Corruption filed the case on April 26, 2003 against them for embezzling Tk 44.50 lakh through irregularities in selecting contractor for a work of Caab in 1997.
