AL leader’s son held with phensidyl in Dinajpur

Dinajpur, Apr 27 (UNB) – Police arrested the son of a local Awami League (AL) leader along with phensidyl at PTI crossing in the town on Friday.

The arrested was identified as Afzal Hossain, 28, son of Kotwali thana unit AL president Asgar Ali, resident of Suihari area.

Tipped-off, police conducted a drive in the area at about 10am and arrested Afzal, also accused in a murder case, and recovered 97 bottles of Phensidyl from a bag he was carrying.

Officer-in-charge of Kotwali thana Aslam Iqbal said a case was filed against him under the Special Powers Act.
