Faridpur, Apr 28 (UNB) – A local leader of Jubo League was found dead at Dighirpar in Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.

Police recovered the bullet-hit body of Mofizur Rahman alias Pakhi, 30, an executive member of upazila unit of the ruling Awami League’s youth wing.

Family sources said Pakhi went out of his residence around 10 pm on Friday after receiving a phone call. He did not return home the whole night.

Local people spotted the body of Pakhi on the bank of a pond in the area at about 6 am today and informed police.

Later, the law enforcers recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police said unidentified miscreants might have shot him to dead sometime at night and dumped the body on the bank of the pond.

The reason behind the killing could not be known yet.
