News - Thai aircraft skids off runaway at Dhaka airport; 3 injured
Dhaka, Apr 30 (UNB) – An aircraft of Royal Thai Air Force skidded off the runaway while landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here on Monday morning, leaving its three crewmembers injured.

Airport security officials said the aircraft (ATR 72) veered 150 feet off the runway and fell into a canal of the airport due to huge bumping during its landing at 8:50am. The aircraft was badly damaged in the accident.

They said two of the injured were admitted to the Dhaka Combined Military Hospital.

Intelligence sources said the aircraft was carrying 20 Thai Army cadets who have been here as part of their annual training exchange programme with Bangladesh Military Academy.
