News - Cases filed against BNP leaders for patronising violence: Tuku
Dhaka, Apr 30 (UNB) - State Minister for Home Affairs Shamsul Huq Tuku has said senior leaders of BNP have been made accused in different cases at their instructions as BNP workers unleashed terrorist acts, including hurling crude bombs at the Secretariat during the hartal on Sunday.

Talking to reporters at his office, he said the cases were filed against the BNP leaders since the law-enforcing agencies have information about their involvement in carrying out terrorist acts.

I their involvement is not found in the terrorist acts after inquiry, they will be relieved of the charges. Tuku said.

Shahbagh and Tejgaon police filed two cases against dozens of BNP leaders, including acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Replying to a question, Tuku said the BGB has been posted at different points in the capital as a strategy in the face of the opposition programmes.

Asked how the two crude bombs were hurled at the Secretariat despite tight security measures, he said it proves that the attackers were trained like militants of `Bangla Bhai’.
