Dhaka, Apr 30 (UNB) - Tahsina Rushdir Luna, wife of missing BNP leader M Ilias Ali, wants to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina seeking her intervention to ensure her husband’s return.
Ilias and his driver Ansar have been missing since midnight of April 17 from the capital.
Addressing a press conference at her Banani house at about 11 am, Luna said she wants to get back her husband alive on any condition, if necessary.
Luna said if the Prime Minister is kind enough to meet her and members of her family, she would request her (PM) to take steps for the return of Ilias.
She felt that the Prime Minister realizes well the pain of losing kith and kin and living in uncertainty and hoped that the Prime Minister would take steps to rescue her husband from wherever he remains and whoever picked him up.
Luna said that not only they will be grateful forever to the Prime Minister, but the people across the country will also be relieved of the unpleasant situation.
She said if there is any allegation against Ilias, the government can take legal action and they will have no objection to it.
Luna said if Ilias is detained for interrogation they want to know under whose custody Ilias has been kept.
Referring to newspaper reports, she said if there is any precondition set for his release, they should be informed of the conditions. They want the return of Ilias alive on any condition, if necessary, she added.
Asked if members of law enforcing agencies come to her house, Luna said there were talks over phone three days ago.
