
Dhaka, Apr 30 (UNB) – Industries Minister Dilip Barua on Monday directed the officials concerned to ensure constant monitoring so that the installation work of central effluent treatment plant (CETP) at Savar leather industrial estate is not delayed.
“The delay in setting up the CETP won’t be allowed,” he told a meeting with senior officials of the ministry and Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) at Shilpa Bhaban.
He also asked the officials to expedite the work on Active Pharmaceuticals Ingredients (API) industrial park being set up at Gozaria, Munshiganj.
The preparatory meeting was arranged to chalk out plans and programmes to celebrate the 55th founding anniversary of BSCIC on May 30.
As part of the countrywide programme, a discussion meeting will be held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on the day. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the function as the chief guest.
Industries Secretary KH Masud Siddiqui, additional secretary ABM Khorshed Alam and BSCIC chairman Fakhrul Islam were, among others, present at the meeting.
