Barguna Zila School emerges champions in National School Cricket

Dhaka, May 2 (UNB) - Barguna Zila School emerged champions in the Standard Chartered Young Tigers National School Cricket Tournament beating Meherpur Technical School & College by five wickets in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.  

State Minister for Youth & Sports Ahad Ali Sarkar, MP was the chief guest at the final and distributed the prizes. BCB president AHM Mustafa Kamal was also present on the occasion.

Meherpur Technical School & College batted first after winning the toss and were all out for 96 runs in 41.3 overs with Imrul Ahmed making 24 runs.

Shakil Arman grabbed four wickets for nine runs to be adjudged man of the match.
In reply, Barguna Zila School easily reached their target for the loss of five wickets in 34.4 overs with Saiful Islam scoring 26 runs and Tipu Chakma 19 runs.

Al Amin of Keraniganj Tegharia High School named as player of the tournament scoring 146 runs and grabbing 23 wickets.
