2 workers stabbed to death in Gazipur

Gazipur, May 5 (UNB) - Two workers were stabbed to death by criminals in separate incidents in Tongi here on Saturday night.

The victims were identified as Jahangir Alam, 24, a worker of Tongi People’s Ceramic and Hasmat Ali Hashu alias Rokan, 35, a worker of SI Knitting Factory in Sataish area.

Police and locals said a group of muggers stabbed Jahangir indiscriminately and took away his cash and valuables in Surtaranga area at about 8pm, killing him on the spot.

In the other incident, Hasmat was hacked to death allegedly by some of his colleagues in Sataish area at bout 8:30pm.

The motive behind the killing could not be known immediately.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy.
