Dhaka Bank donates bus to Navy school

Dhaka, May 8 (UNB) - Dhaka Bank Ltd has donated a bus to BN Ashar Alo School and Rehabilitation Centre, a school for the disabled children at Sailors Colony II in New Mooring which is run under direct supervision of Bangladesh Navy.

Chairman of the bank Reshadur Rahman formally handed the key of the bus over to President of Bangladesh Navy Family Welfare Association (BNFWA) and wife of Navy Chief Begum Shabnam Ahmed at a ceremony held on the school premises on Tuesday, said an ISPR release.

Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral ZU Ahmed was present at the ceremony.

In her speech, the BNFWA President thanked the Dhaka Bank authorities for extending their hands to the differently able children of the society.

She urged the well-off section of the society and different organistions to come forward for the betterment of the disabled children.

The Dhaka Bank chairman said they did not just donate the bus to Navy school but they gave it out of their social responsibility.

He also said their assistance for the betterment of the disabled children would continue in the future.

Ashar Alo School and Rehabilitation Centre was established for the betterment of the differently able children. It is adorned with modern facilities that are appreciated by all walks of people, added the release.
