News - 11 cops closed for their link with drug peddling in Savar
Savar, May 9 (UNB) - Eleven cops, including six sub-inspectors and one ASI, of Savar and Ashulia police stations were closed to police lines on Tuesday for their alleged involvement with drug peddling and other corruption.

The policemen are: SI Paltu Ghosh, ASI Zafar Iqbal, constables Malek, Humayun, Lutfar Rahman and Sheikh Rahmat Ullah of Savar Model thana and SIs Abul Bashar, Ayub Ali, Saiful Islam, Ilias Rahman and Abul Kalam Azad of Ashulia thana.

They were closed to the police lines as per the directive of Dhaka Police Super Mizanur Rahman.

Police sources said Dhaka Police Super, Assistant Police Super and officers-in-charge of the two police stations found their involvement in corruption and drug peddling after investigation.
Savar Model thana OC Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter.
