News - Budget session likely to begin on May 27: Speaker
Dhaka, May 9 (UNB) - The budget session of Parliament is likely to begin on May 27, said Speaker Abdul Hamid Advocate on Wednesday.

Talking to a group of reporters at his Sangsad Bhaban office, the Speaker said the Parliament Secretariat has already sent a proposal to the President for summoning the session.

This will be the fourth budget session of the current parliament.

According to the Finance Minister, the national budget for fiscal 2012-13 is likely to be placed in parliament on June 7.

Speaking in a pre-budget discussion with the Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) at the conference room of his ministry at the Secretariat on April 22, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said the budget would be passed in the House before June 28.

“June 30 falls on Friday. So, we’re planning to have the budget passed on June 28,” he told.
