Chittagong, May 10 (UNB) - A minor boy was killed as a speeding truck ran him over at Ichhanagar in the city’s Karnafuli thana area on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Junaid, 3, son of Ahsanullah of the area.

Police and witnesses said the sugar-loaded truck of S Alam Sugar Mills crushed Junaid under its wheels while he was playing on the road in front of his house in the morning.

As the news spread around, angry locals put up a barricade on the road demanding punishment to the driver of the truck.

On information, police rushed to the spot and removed the barricade after one hour.

A case was filed in this connection.
