
Dhaka, May 10 (UNB) – Detective Branch of Police on Thursday submitted charge sheet against 45 leaders and activists of the BNP-led 18-party alliance, including BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in a case filed over the recent hartal violence.
DB inspector Nurul Amin, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate in the morning.
The charge sheeted accused also include BNP leaders Dr Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, MK Anwar, Hannan Shah, Mirza Abbas, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Amanullah Aman, Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Fazlul Haque Milon, Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal president Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and Liberal Democratic Party president Col (retd) Oli Ahmad.
Tejgaon police filed the case against the opposition leaders and activists for torching a bus near the Prime Minister's Office during hartal on April 29.
Later, the case was shifted to the DB police.
