Sylhet, May 10 (UNB) - Teachers of Applied Science and Technology Faculty of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) staged a sit-in programme on the campus on Thursday to press home their various demands.

Their demand included making fully impartial the principles for promotion and upgradation of teachers and cancellation of present biased principles.

No academic and administrative activities except examinations took place during the programme at eight departments under the faculty during the strike that held in front of the administrative building from 10am to 1pm.

Earlier on Wednesday, the teachers after observing work abstention put the office rooms of the departmental heads under lock and key.

Dr Ilias Uddin Biswas on behalf of the university authority and teachers’ association leaders held talks with the striking teachers to resolve the crisis.
