Dhaka, May 11 (UNB)-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the death of Sylhet Awami League vice-president Iftekhar Hossain Shamim in a tragic road crash on Friday.

In a condolence message, Sheikh Hasina prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

She also gave directive to the authorities concerned to take action for providing proper treatment to the people who were injured in the same road accident.

Seven people. including AL leader Shamim. were killed and 30 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and truck at Kasikapon in Balaganj upazila in Sylhet on Friday morning.
