News - Two extortionists held with arms in city

Dhaka, May 11(UNB) - Police arrested two extortionists along with arms from separate places in the capital early Friday in connection with shooting a security guard for toll on Thursday.

Police also recovered one 9MM pistol with six rounds of bullets from their possessions.The arrestees were identified as Miki Babul,23, and Imran,19.

Police said a gang of extortionists, including Miki Babul and Imran, shot and wounded Abdul Mannan,50, a security guard of an under-construction building in the city’s Mirpur area on Thursday as they did not find the owner of the building for realising toll.

A team of Pallabi thana police raided a house at Rupnagar in city and arrested Miki Babul early today (Friday).

Acting on his statement, the same team raided a house at Mirpur-12 and arrested Imran and recovered a pistol and six rounds of bullet from his possession.
