Ban Ki-moon condoles death of Bangladeshi peacekeeper

Dhaka, May 11 (UNB) - UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has expressed his deep shock at the death of Wing Commander M Abdul Haris of Bangladesh Air Force.

Haris died on April 16 this year while serving under the United Nations Peace Keeping Mission in Congo.

In a condolence letter recently sent to Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to UN Dr AK Abdul Momen, the UN secretary-general conveyed his sympathy to the Bangladesh government as well as to the deceased's family, said an official handout on Friday.

He also prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
