Brothers Union beats Arambagh KS 4-3

Dhaka, May 12 (UNB) - A brilliant hat-trick by Nigerian forward Kingsley Chigozie enabled Brothers Union to stage a 4-3 return leg win against Arambagh KS after being two down within three minutes in a thrilling Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Saturday.

It was a sweet revenge for Brothers Union for their 1-2 goals defeat against Arambagh KS in the first leg.

With the day’s feat, Brothers Union raised their tally to 14 points while Arambagh KS remained at nine points, both playing 11 matches.

Liberian forward Benjamin Cooper struck twice for Arambagh KS within the first three minutes, capitalizing on his Nigerian attacking partner Eleta Kingsley’s pass on both occasions.

Benjamin Cooper opened the floodgate for Arambagh in the very first minute by a curving a left footer from the middle of the box off a light push by Eleta (1-0).

Again in the 3rd minute, Benjamin Cooper placed the ball home after fed by Eleta’s square pass (2-0).

Brothers Union hit back in the 22nd minute as their Nigerian forward Kingsley Chigozie placed the ball into the middle of the net after receiving a pass from his compatriot Victory Anthony (2-1).

But, Arambagh’s Nigerian midfielder Umokoro Goodwin further widened the team margin in the 25th minute by a grounder after Eleta Kingsley made him free at the top of the box with a back pass from the right flank (3-1)

Brothers Union medio Didarul Alam scored the 2nd goal for his team in the 42nd minute by an angular shot off a Khan Tara free kick (3-2).

In the 55th minute, Nigerian Kingsley Chigozie found the Arambagh net with a curving header from the right wing off a Kabir Hossain cross (3-3) to level the margin for Brothers Union.

In the 60th minute, Kinglesy Chigozie scored the match-winning goal as he made the hattrick, the 6th hattrick in the league, in the 60th minute by placing the ball into the net over Arambagh goalie Mohammad Salim (4-3).
