3 killed in Keraniganj

Keraniganj, May 13 (UNB) – Three people were killed and the bodies were dumped in Buriganga and Dhaleshwari rivers and a pond in the upazila sometimes between Friday and early Saturday.

Miscreants indiscriminately stabbed Aminul Islam Sentu, alias Jacob, 28, and then slaughtered him to confirm his death in Bhagna area in Kalindi under Keraniganj Model Police Station early Saturday.

Locals found his throat-slit body on the bank of a pond and informed police who sent it to Mitford Hospital for autopsy in the afternoon.

He was the son of Abdul Kader of Pashchimpara of Shubhadda in Dakkhin Keraniganj.

Almost at the same time police recovered the body of an unidentified man, aged around 32, from Dhaleshwari River in Dakkhin Keraniganj.

Dakkhin Keraniganj police sent the body, bearing injury marks, to Mitford Hospital for autopsy.

Police suspected miscreants killed him and dumped the body into Dhaleshwari sometimes between Friday and early Saturday.

In separate incident, a beheaded body of an unidentified man was recovered from Buriganga under Dakkhin Keraniganj opposite to Wiseghat at 2-30 pm.

Dakkhin Keraniganj thana officer Sakhawat Hossain said the body recovered from near Wiseghat bore marks of torture. The victim`s hands and legs were dissected from his body, he added.
