Dhaka, May 13 (UNB) – A four-day border conference between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) will begin at Shiliguri in India tomorrow (Monday).
Deputy Director General of BGB Brigadier General Abu Sayeed Khan will lead a 14-member Bangladesh delegation in the conference.
Officials from Home and Foreign Ministries also included the delegation.
The Indian delegation includes BSF IGs of South Bengal, Malda and North Bengal frontiers, officials of Home Ministry and Narcotics Control Bureau.
The meeting will discuss different border related issues such as killing as well as arrest and kidnap of unarmed Bangladeshis allegedly by Indian BSF or Indian nationals, checking smuggling of drugs and arms and ammunition into Bangladesh from India and construction of roads, electric pillar and bribed wire fences and river bank protection works within 150 yards off zero line.
