Septuagenarian woman burned alive in Lalmonirhat

Lalmonirhat, May 14 (UNB) - A septuagenarian woman was burned alive when a fire broke out at her house in Aditmari upazila early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Joyfun Bewa, 75, wife of late Hossain Dewani of Chandonpat Pabnapara village in the upazila.

Police quoting locals said the fire originated from an electrical short circuit at the house at about 2 am.

Although all other family members managed to go out of the house, Joyfun was burned to death.

Valuables worth Tk over 6 lakh were also gutted by the fire family sources claimed.

Officer-in-charge of Aditmari Police Station Mahafuzar Rahman confirmed the incident.
