Dhaka, May 14 (UNB) - Gulshan Youth Club registered the 2nd consecutive victory in the 4th Women’s Club Cricket League outplaying BKSP by 68 runs at the BKSP ground-2 in Savar today (Monday).
By virtue of the day’s win, Gulshan Youth Club maintained their all win run in the league after beating Dipali JS by nine-wicket in their first match while it was the first defeat for BKSP after their emphatic 150 runs win over Indira Road KC.
In the day’s match, Gulshan Youth Club batted first after winning toss and piled up a good total of 172 runs for 8 in quota 40 overs.
Gulshan Youth captain Lata, who scored the match highest 44 runs and later grabbed two wickets for 26 runs, was adjudged the player of the match.
Besides, Sanjida scored 43, Reshma 14 and Sharmin not out 14 runs for Gulshan Youth Club.
Dolly Rani, Suraiya Azmin and Farzana took two wickets each conceding 3, 21 and 33 runs respectively.
Chasing a target of 173 runs, high flying BKSP were forced to fold their innings at 104 for 8 in stipulated 40 overs with Nuzhat making 31 runs.
Besides, Azra Raihana (16) Rozina (14) and Sharmin (10) for BKSP.
Tithi Rani grabbed two wickets for 10 runs, apart from skipper Lata’s two wickets haul.
In the day’s other match, Azad SC tasted a comfortable 10-wicket victory over Kalabagan KC at BKSP ground in Savar.
Going to bat first after winning the toss, Kalabagan KC were bundled out for just 42 runs in 29.3 overs with the highest 11 runs came from extras.
Khadizatul Kubra caused the major damage to Kalabagan innings grabbing four wickets for just nine runs while Ritu Moni claimed three wickets for 13 runs.
In reply, Azad Sporting Club easily reached their target scoring the match winning 43 runs without losing any wicket in just 6.1 overs with Sathira Zahir and Fatema remaining unbeaten with 28 and 7 runs respectively.
