Dhaka, May 14 (UNB) - Lowly rated Farashganj SC emerged as giant-killer in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League upsetting holders Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 2-0 goals at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here today (Monday).

Farashganj SC, who earlier came to the limelight with a surprising 1-0 victory over title-contender Muktijoddha Sangsad KC in the previous match, today netted one goal in each half, both scored by their Congolese forward Siyo Zunapiyo.

With the day’s well merited victory, Farashganj SC raised their tally to 14 points from 12 matches while Sheikh Jamal DC remained at their previous credit 12 points, playing same number of matches.

In the day’s match, Siyo Zunapiyo put Farashganj SC ahead in the 19th minute by a placing shot from left side of the small box, capitalizing on a combined move of Nigerian striker Henry Chindo and medio Arafat (1-0).

Zunapiyo doubled the Farashganj margin in the 67th minute, also by similar fashion, placing the ball through middle of the net, off the same combination of Arafat and Henry Chindo, amid a huge frustration of Sheikh Jamal fans (2-0).

Earlier in the 31st minute, Sheikh Jamal forward Sohel Rana made a good header off Arup Baidya cross, but his header landed straight in the lap of Farashganj goalie Sultan Ahmed Shakil.

Another attempt of Sheikh Jamal in the 77th minute went to the drain as a header of their Batamec John Eric’s, was nicely grabbed by Farashganj custodian Shakil.

Sheikh Jamal tried their best to turn the match in their favour but all of their efforts went in vain due to poor finishing.
