Dhaka Northern Women’s Club, CCS earn victories in Women’s Club Cricket

Dhaka, May 15 (UNB) - Dhaka Northern Women’s Cricket Club and Cricket Coaching School (CCS) won their respective matches in the 4th Women’s Club Cricket League at separate grounds in BKSP today (Tuesday).
Dhaka Northern Women’s Cricket Club earned a three-wicket victory over all-loser Indira Road KC at the BKSP ground two while Cricket Coaching School (CCS) managed a four-wicket win over Rising Girls Cricket Academy at the BKSP ground one.
Batting first, coin-favoured Indira Road KC were all out for 109 in 36 overs.
Rita Saha (20), Dipa Rani (17), Kiron (11) and Sajida (10) were the notable scorers for Indira Road KC.
Sabina Khatun and Mirona grabbed three wickets each conceding 16 and 18 runs respectively while Jerin Tasmin took two wickets for 18 runs.
In reply, Dhaka Northern Women’s Cricket Club easily reached their target of 110 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 30.1 overs.
Taslima hammered match-highest 35 runs off 57 balls with three fours and was adjudged player of the match. Besides, Joyti Rani scored not out 21 and Halima Akhter made 17 for Northern Women’s.
In the day’s another match, Rising Girls Cricket Academy opted to bat first after winning the toss and were forced to fold their innings at 74 runs for 9 in quota 40 overs.
Nupur scored 13 and Kajol made 12 runs, while the team’s highest 26 runs came from extras.
Rima Akhter and Salma claimed two wickets each for 10 and 13 runs respectively.
Chasing a small target of 75 runs, Cricket Coaching School raced to victory scoring 77 runs in 14.1 overs for the loss of six wickets with Farzana Akhter making run-a-ball 29 that featured five fours.
Besides, Ishma Tanjim scored 17 runs and Baby Saha 11 runs for CCS.
Laboni Akhter captured three wickets for 27 runs.
Nadira Afrin, who scored a boundary while facing her very first ball to assure the team’s victory, and earlier took one wicket for 5 run in six overs, was adjudged player of the match.
