Charges pressed against Oli in corruption case

Dhaka, May 15 (UNB) – Charges were pressed on Tuesday against Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) chief Oli Ahmed in a corruption case filed by ACC against him with Ramna thana last year.

Judge M Zahurul Haque of Senior Special Judge`s Court, Dhaka, took the charges into cognizance after a brief hearing, rejecting a time petition filed by the accused.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case against Col (retd) Oli Ahmed, also a former minister, for non-submission of his wealth statement to it, with Ramna Police Station on Nov 28, 2011.

The charge sheet was submitted on April 14 this year and the court fixed today for hearing over the charge.

Col Oli was present in the court today.
