3 held; Firearms, drugs recovered in 2 dists
Dhaka, May 15 (UNB) - Police in separate drives arrested three people in Sunamganj and Bogra districts and recovered a firearm and drugs on Tuesday and Monday night.
In Sunamganj: Acting on secret information, a team of Sadar thana, led by Sub Inspector Aminul Islam, conducted a drive at Krishnanagar vilage of sadar upazila and recovered 65 bottles of Indian wine from the house of one Abdul Amin, 45.
In Bogra: Police intercepted a Bogra-bound private car from Hili at Mahasthan-Chandihara on Bogra-Rangpur road near Mahasthangarh and recovered 140 bottles of phensidyl from the car, arresting two people at 8:30 pm on Monday. They are: Riazul, 23, and Shyamal Chandra Shil, 27.
Two hours later, Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted a drive at Brindabanpara at Madhyapara in Bogra town and arrested Sabbul Islam, 26, a listed terrorist at 10:30 pm.
They recovered a foreign-made pistol, two bullets and a magazine from him.
