Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF

Chapainawabganj, May 16 (UNB) - A Bangladeshi farmer was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Azmatpur in frontier Shibganj upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Durul Islam, 38, son of Afzal Hossain of Azmatpur Hudma village in the upazila.

Local BGB sources said BSF members of Shwasani outpost fired several shots at Durul when he went to look after his maize and paddy fields at border pillar No. 181, leaving him severely wounded at about 3:30am.

Later, local people rushed him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at about 9:45 am.
