Dhaka, May 17 (UNB) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday night asked the leaders and workers of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) to be more attentive to their studies.

“You’ll have to give priority to your education, then politics,” she said when the leaders of 87 organisational units of BCL called on her at her official residence Ganobhaban.

Hasina, also the President of ruling Awami League, asked the BCL leaders not to do anything, which

may tarnish the image of their organization.

“Live a simple life, think high and don’t do anything, which may tarnish the image of your organisation,” she said.

She also urged them to put in their best efforts to do good results in their examinations, saying that “You will have to refrain yourselves from the political activities before the exams for doing good results.”

Listing various measures taken for development of education in the country, the Prime Minister said the government has been working tirelessly to maintain a peaceful atmosphere on the campuses across the country and reduce the session jam of the students.

Sheikh Hasina asked the student leaders to strengthen their organisation through holding regular conferences of all the units of the organisation.

BCL president HM Badiuzzaman Sohag, general secretary Siddiqui Nazmul Alam and Sheikh Helal, MP, were present on the occasion.
