Slit-throat body of young man recovered

Sylhet, May 18 (UNB) – Police recovered slit-throat body of a young man from Purba Sirajnagar village in Balaganj upazila on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Nizam Uddin, 26, son of late Abdur Rouf of Phultali village of Zakiganj upazila.

Local people found the body dumped under earth at about 9pm and informed the police.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Hospital for autopsy.

Victim’s family said there was a longstanding dispute between Nizam and his sister Monwara’s ex-husband Nunu Mia alias Nantu.

Nizam’s mother Fatema filed a murder case against Nunu with Osmaninagar thana.
